The Rt Hon George Reid, former Presiding Officer (Speaker) of the Scottish Parliament visited Moldova from 28 September-3 October as a Member of the Board of the John Smith Memorial Trust
to launch the Trust's Fellowship Programme for 2010.
During his visit to Moldova Mr Reid delivered two public lectures on Scotland's experience of devolution also and visited the fire station in the Botanica district of Chisinau which has recently received one of four refurbished fire engines and two ambulances donated by Blythswood Care to help develop Moldova's civil emergency response capabilities.
